Technology Explained

Working Principle

VRLA (Valve Regulated Lead Acid) is a sealed battery where electrolyte is absorbed in a fiberglass AGM mat or immobilised as gel. A pressure relief valve regulates internal cell pressure — enabling safe, truly sealed operation with zero water topping required.

Gas Recombination

During discharge, acid and lead react to produce lead sulphate and water. Charging reverses this. Internal oxygen recombination suppresses water electrolysis — unlike flooded batteries, no gas escapes and no water is consumed throughout the service life.

Deep Cycle Performance

Cumulus AGM batteries use a positive paste formula engineered for deep-discharge applications — solar, elevator ARD, and UPS — delivering significantly greater cycle life than standard VRLA designs.
